21.5.21. Noduff Bellagio and Noduff Caesar (pictured) both had highly satisfactory first trials at Monmore Green yesterday.
Bellagio (Bonnie to her friends) recorded a calculated 29.12 off a modest sectional having missed the break. She’s a December 2019 whelp who’s never run in a race and this was her very first look at the Monmore circuit not to mention her first outing from the kennel in almost four weeks. She took a middle to wide course. With more laps under her belt we would expect her to be an early paced middle runner. We are very optimistic that she will duck under the 29 second barrier on her next trial appearance.
Caesar (Bertie in the kennel) underlined his likely prowess as a stayer by recording a calculated 29.01 off a slow 4.74 sectional. He, too, hasn’t seen a racecourse in nearly a month and this was his first outing at Monmore Green. He took a middle course throughout and stayed on strongly. Bertie had one race in Ireland but impressed us in his sales trial when he ran on well after early trouble. We also expect him to have no difficulty improving his times over the next few weeks.
