3.9.21. Noduff Racing recorded a winning double today at Monmore Green – both in A4 and both from trap 5!
Noduff Aria continued his fine run of form by coming from last to first again and winning in a personal best 29.05. Last entering the first bend, he still had a mountain to climb going down the back but he loomed up on the outside at the last and, despite running typically wide, finished too well for the leaders. There’s no doubt that the 630m races last month did Fred a world of good.
Just two races later, Supreme Odin (pictured) went off a shade of odds on to win his A4 on the basis that he must surely lead. Anywhere near his all-the-way 28.70 as recorded when winning an A3 would have surely been more than sufficient. As it was Luigi missed the break and favourite backers must have been screwing up their tickets as he entered the first bend just third. He did well to turn into the back straight in second but still had three lengths to make up. He did even better to get inside the leader approaching the final bend and pulled away to win by a length and a half. The modest time of 29.26 reflected his tardy start and an absence of three weeks since his last run as he recovered from a superficial paddock injury.
