15.11.22. I couldn’t let this evening pass without a mention in dispatches for Noduff Grand (Wallace) who took his record at Crayford to 8 wins from 18 runs since he arrived at the track and joined Jim Reynolds. Tonight’s battling win from behind in A1 company was to add to his victory in S1 and two open race successes over the longer trip.
Wallace was harshly disqualified at Monmore when still a pup and was sent to Crayford to hurdle. He wasn’t a natural jumper so we eventually decided to give him clearing trials which he passed without incident. He has never looked back and, what’s more and despite what Tony Bullen says everytime he’s on RPGTV, the dog has never put a foot wrong either before or since the disqualification. It really goes to show that a pup shouldn’t be DQ’d except in the clearest of circumstances.
Well done and thank you Jim Reynolds and well done Wallace! Monmore Racing Office not so much.
