16.6.21. Just to underline how unlucky he was last time out, Luigi (pictured) trapped superbly today to lead from trap to line and win his A3 at Monmore Green taking his win tally to three from the last four outings.

It looks as if he’s grown out of his puppy habit of missing the break as underlined by his sectionals of 4.44 last time and 4.46 today. He stays the 480 metre trip well enough that we allowed ourselves to be confident when he was four lengths clear at halfway. In the end he duly held off the fast finishing Swift Impale by one length to record his fourth consecutive sub-29 second finish.

Luigi’s reward was a well-earned cold bath (pictured). No one can say the dogs aren’t well looked after at Monmore Green and in the Stuart Buckland kennel. Remember Luigi was off for nearly two months with a wrist injury but has come back better than ever!
